Cada vez mais, estudos afirmam que pacientes com ansiedade e depress\u00e3o podem se beneficiar dos lactobacilos. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Sabemos que nosso corpo possui 10 vezes mais c\u00e9lulas bacterianas do que humanas, e que a maior parte delas est\u00e1 no nosso intestino. Seus prop\u00f3sitos s\u00e3o in\u00fameros, incluindo a digest\u00e3o dos alimentos, produ\u00e7\u00e3o de algumas vitaminas, e regula\u00e7\u00e3o da nossa imunidade. Hoje, pesquisadores teorizam se mudan\u00e7as nas bact\u00e9rias intestinais podem ter um papel importante em condi\u00e7\u00f5es neuropsiqui\u00e1tricas como ansiedade e depress\u00e3o.<\/p>\n

Alguns cientistas acreditam que o c\u00e9rebro e o sistema digestivo podem se comunicar atrav\u00e9s de neurotransmissores. Sendo assim, seria poss\u00edvel afirmar que a ansiedade ou a depress\u00e3o podem causar, por exemplo, dor abdominal, ou que condi\u00e7\u00f5es gastrointestinais como dor abdominal cr\u00f4nica ou constipa\u00e7\u00e3o podem causar ansiedade ou depress\u00e3o.<\/p>\n

Se, na teoria, as bact\u00e9rias t\u00eam um papel nessas condi\u00e7\u00f5es cr\u00f4nicas, ent\u00e3o adicionar probi\u00f3ticos (\u201cbact\u00e9rias boas\u201d) poderia ajudar a tratar essas doen\u00e7as cr\u00f4nicas.<\/p>\n

Um estudo conduzido por Steenbergen et al. (2015) teve como objetivo avaliar se um pool de probi\u00f3ticos age regulando o processo de disbiose intestinal e, atrav\u00e9s do eixo intestino-c\u00e9rebro, reduz os sintomas depressivos. O estudo foi realizado com 40 pacientes que apresentavam quadro depressivo. Os pacientes foram divididos em dois grupos para receber a seguinte posologia por 4 semanas: grupo I recebeu um pool dos probi\u00f3ticos B. bifidum, B. lactis, L. acidophilus, L. brevis, L. casei, L. salivarius, e L. lactis<\/em>; o grupo II recebeu placebo.<\/p>\n

Os pacientes tratados com a suplementa\u00e7\u00e3o probi\u00f3tica por 4 semanas mostraram uma redu\u00e7\u00e3o significativa nos sintomas relacionados \u00e0 depress\u00e3o, com melhora do humor e da agressividade. Os resultados deste estudo foram os primeiros a evidenciar que a ingest\u00e3o de probi\u00f3ticos pode auxiliar na melhora de alguns sintomas relacionados \u00e0 depress\u00e3o como a agress\u00e3o e o humor.<\/p>\n
